Burn Permits

Burn Permits are required for ALL burning in Cyr Plantation.  You may contact Mike Lajoie at 868-2665  or our Clerk  Janet Lapierre at 868-5403 to request a permit.

Burning without a permit is in violation and could result in a fine.

Plumbing Inspector

Plumbing Permits are needed for all new construction and updates to systems. To ensure compliance contact our plumbing inspector as follows:

Steve Wentworth Cell: 551-1007

Permit costs as follows: Internal Plumbing is $10 per fixture with a minimum cost of $40

External permits such as septic systems, $265.00

State of Maine Inspectors office is Brent Larson   592-7376

 

Property Tax Policy

The Town of Cyr Plantation has set forth a policy regarding property tax payments.

A property tax discount of 4% will be given on payments made within 30 days of postmark with a cap of $5,000.

Interest  rate of 7% will  start to accrue 60 days after postmark date of mailing and  applied on all  unpaid taxes.

Payments made after the due date will be applied to the oldest tax year along with interest that has accrued.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Foreclosure

The Town of Cyr Plantation is proud to announce a grant award from the Maine Acadian Heritage Council in the amount of $1,760.00 for a summer tour guide at our Historical Governor Brann School. The school will be open to tourist starting July 5th Thursday/Friday/Saturday and Sundays. Noon to 4 but hours may vary.

Grant Award

We are proud to announce a grant award from the Belvadere Family Foundation in the amount of $4,000 for renovations to our historical school house.

We are deeply grateful for this opportunity and want to thank the Belvadere Foundation for their generous donations.

Trail Grant:  Each summer, we are able to offer free tours of our Historical School House all thanks to the  Maine Acadian Heritage Council, without their help we would not be able to provide this service to the public. The school is open to the public starting 4th of July weekend and ending l labor day each year , Summer hours are  posted when the school is open for touring.

 

Town Reports

The 2018-2019 Town Reports have been distributed to local residents. There are still some available to taxpayers who have not received one. Contact the clerks office at 868-5403 to pick one up while supplies last. The books will also be available at our yearly Town meeting on March 30th.

Election/Annual Town Meeting

Election of Officers was held March 28th  at the school house.

Tax Collector:  Michael Ouellette: 1 year term

School Board Representative:  Sally Gronier: 3 year term
